Taoxichuan Ceramic Culture Industrial Park

Taoxichuan regenerates two disused ceramic factory compounds as a mixed-use cultural and creative district. Guided by a long-term masterplan, the project preserves workshops, kilns, chimneys, and production routes while coordinating adaptive reuse, restrained infill, underground connections, and a pedestrian-oriented network of streets and plazas. Repurposed industrial buildings accommodate museums, studios, performance spaces, markets, and affordable live-work units for ceramic practitioners. Rain gardens, sunken courtyards, permeable paving, and reclaimed masonry reduce stormwater runoff and material waste. Developed incrementally, the project anchors contemporary urban life in Jingdezhen's enduring craft heritage.
