Wudianshi

Wudianshi developed around Jinjiang's ancestral core. Ancestral halls, red-brick residences, courtyards, and gardens embody local settlement traditions and the history of overseas Chinese communities. A targeted set of interventions combines repair, restoration, adaptive reuse, and selective reconstruction. Salvaged brick, timber, and stone were reused, with traditional masonry, woodcarving, and ceramic decoration integrated into new construction. Mature trees, shaded courtyards, and water landscapes were preserved or restored and now support cultural, commercial, and community activities.
